DIY HOLIDAY CARDS

I couldn't be more excited about our upcoming Halloween party at the end of the month! I've been spending lots of time finding the perfect decorations, fun gifts for guests, and planning recipes. With all this effort, I wanted to make sure I had the perfect invite, but nothing pre-made really met my expectations. That's when I decided making them myself is the way to go and it was a must to make it fun! I went to a local Paper Source store in search of inspiration when I discovered heat embossing!

Embossing allows you to get a stamp that is shiny and raised from the card stock that you're using. It's super fun and a cheap investment if you plan on making a number of future cards or invites. You can personalize it however you want for any holiday or occasion.

1. Press your stamp of choice into an embossing ink pad (Versa Marking Powder) and stamp onto card.

2. Use an embossing powder of your choice (I used orange for a bright pumpkin against a black card) sprinkle it onto of the stamp, and tap excess off

3) Hold your embossing heat tool on top for approximately 20 seconds and watch your stamp turn glossy! It turns into a super professional looking card.

FYI: You cannot use a blow dryer to replace an embossing tool, it will spray your powder all over the place!

4) To complete my invite, I printed the date, time, and locate of our party in a creepy halloween font and taped it to the card stock using a funky black and white chevron tape.

Voila! Have fun stamping and check out the products I used below:
